How it started
My name is James Walker and I am a Portland Photographer open to travel. I started my photography journey in 2019 where I began taking pictures of everything I saw. I quickly found a passion for capturing the essence of people, being able to catch one second of someone's life and show the perspective that I get to see! From this passion I started Creatively Candid Media. My goal is to make sure that everyone can have a fun and creative photoshoot that will leave you with pictures that you can be proud to be in, and a fun and adventurous affordable photoshoot! The first year of professional photography I was tasked with my first wedding. After capturing all of the special moments I quickly realized this is a form of photography that I love and do well. I believe that everybody deserves an affordable wedding photographer who will work above and beyond to capture your special day! For all my weddings I work hard to try and make sure pictures are returned within 7-14 days of the wedding, I just can't stand to have someone waiting on the pictures from their special day!
I've photographed tons of weddings and always have a blast doing it! I was lucky enough to be flown out to Cabo San Lucas to photograph a wedding as well as Glendive, Montana! If you are interested in flying me to your location to capture your special day please feel free to contact me for a quote!

How the photoshoot works
So you are interested in a photoshoot! Maybe it's your first time, maybe it is your hundredth, either way I am ready to help pose and get creative with you!
First you message me:
Through the contact me page you can send me a message, in that message please explain what kind of shoot you are interested in as well as any other key details for the shoot. (Please include city and state that you would like the shoot to be in.)
Secure the date:
Once a date and time is decided I require a 25% non-refundable deposit. This deposit will hold your date and time as well as have me scout the location before you arrive.
Pick a location:
After the deposit is paid, if you don't have a location in mind, I will figure out 3 locations that are close to you that you can choose from (don't worry, if you don't like the 3 we will find the perfect spot!). There is a fee of $50 per hour for traveling via car, if the location is within an hour of drive time I do not apply this fee.
Once the spot, date and time is figured out we are set for the shoot, so kick your feet up and relax! (This waiting period is a great time to explore Pinterest and send me references of photos you like!)
Time to shoot:
I will message you the day before confirming the shoot! Once you arrive at the shoot we will begin to explore the location together and taking photos! Once the photoshoot is complete I immediately start working on the photos to get them edited and sent back to you digitally within 24 hours of the shoot!
